Multimedia rules The follow applies to all areas that use multimedia, whether it be quotes, images or videos. I know its dry and dull, but if you read and understand them it will make for a easy going forum. (Rolly)
[b]1) If you quote from a publication you must indicate it’s a copy of some one else’s work, by placing it in quotes. It would also be good to post a link and source, however that’s not always necessary. The quotes are.
2) When you post pictures you should not hot link someone else’s space even if the host doesn’t pay. You may not post URLs that you have saved in your favorites as this is the hotlinking. You must save the image and then format it via websites like Image shack or photo bucket and post the IMG link which will create a linkage with the image which is now yours.
Photobucket
Imageshack
3) The only exceptions to this rule is if you access the images through a public gallery, photobucket and Image shack (Plus many more) will give you the choice to open a area to store your images where members of the public can stroll in and take what they want. A good example is Meri’s (Jess), she has given everyone permission to dig around. You may therefore post images from her gallery.
If someone gives you the read me password for a gallary you may not post images unless the owner has OKed it first.
4) Although you can post as many direct images into the board as you want (5 max per post) I do ask that you check its size first, dial up is a slug. It takes ages to load up pages of pictures. If they make the screen stretch more than its self and a half, the image will be deleted. Post direct links (URLs) so people can access them externally if they are huge.
5) Boxes with a red cross for over 2 weeks will be deleted. This occurs if you move images and disrupt the link between the forum and the picture location, or the hosting site may be down. It’s worth checking your pictures every so often.
6) Siggys and Avatar red cross boxes will be deleted after 4 weeks. This topic is locked, any problems please post them in the forum information section.
