Title: The Flying Dutchwoman
Description: off to Scotland!

Hestia - August 7, 2006 04:29 PM (GMT)
You might have noticed, I'll be on holiday from tomorrow. I'm going to do tour of Scotland, completely self-organised by me and my three friends. If you're interested in Operation Spot-a-Scot, contact me and you can get our complete travelplan.

But for now I'll post a list of every town and castle we're going to visit.

8-10 August: Glasgow
10-12 August: Tarbet, near Loch Lomond (we're hoping to spot some authentic Scots there) with a trip to Inveraray Castle
12-14 August: Fort William with a trip to Eilean Donan Castle
14-16 August: Portree on the Isle of Skye
16-17 August: Pitlochry, in the middle of the mountains. Going to Blair Atholl (Castle with a huge armoury)
17-19 August: Stirling, with a visit to Stirling Castle
19-21 August: Edinburgh. Of course gonna visit Edinburgh Castle, but also checking out the Book and Film Festivals and The Fringe Festival.
On the 22nd we'll be flying back to Amsterdam. But I don't wanna think of that yet.

When I have (free) Internet access in a hostel, I'll try to visit the boards to give an update. But don't expect too much. You might have to wait till I get back before you hear of me again. I'll try to miss you, yet I hope I won't because missing you might mean I'm not enjoying myself. And I'm planning on having a ball

So, see you later!

Just a quick note from Pitlochry! Weather has been awesome this far. Some showers in Glasgow and rain today, but we've been travelling from Skye to Pitlochry (about 5 hours) so we didn't really mind.

Scotland is just amazing. Everywhere you look you'll find great views and the castles, they're just... :wow:

My friends are taking a lot of pictures, and I'll post some when I get them from them. I dread the day I'll be posting again, because it will probably mean I'm back home.

Now, there's a pooltable with my name on it waiting in the lounge where the nice Belgian guys are.

Oh, and I've had a small crush on an English guy who was cycling on Skye. He was soooo cute! No pics of him, unfortunately.

Alright, my friend is bobbing behing me to get her time on the computer, so I'll have to sign off. Byeeee!

*looks around*

Ever got homesick after getting home? I think I have that now. I miss Scotland! I missed the mountains when I was getting home from the airport. I miss the beautiful weather (omg, saw the sunset this morning when we got to the airport) and can you believe it that it was raining in Amsterdam when we landed, while we only had about 2 bad days of weather in Scotland. Bwaha!

I have a lot to tell and I'm not sure how I'm gonna handle it. I'll probably write some things on my blog (hestia-nusa.blogdrive.com) and there'll definitely be a report on the NUSA-website someday soon.

For the moment, I'm gonna be sad that I'm back home but also enjoy the wonders of the wasingmachine. Clean clothes please!

oh my, you're back already. Time flew.
I'm glad you had such a great time. I'll definitely read your blog, because I'm nosey and want to know everything.

Dang, I want to go to Scotland too.

Scotland is just amazing. I can recommend it to everyone. As I mentioned before, we went to Glasgow, Arrochar and Tarbet near Loch Lomond, Fort William, Portree on Skye, Pitlochry, Stirling and Edinburgh (geez, last night I was in Edinburgh preparing for a Ghosthunters tour. That was really scary when we went into the vaults under the South Bridge, btw!)

One of my friends is uploading her pictures now, so I can start with the Glasgow pics. We did and saw a lot in Glasgow, but I'm only giving you the funniest or most impressive pics.

In the train from Edinburgh to Glasgow on the first day. My teeth are weird, don't look at them. Or maybe I shouldn't have said it

The view when hanging out of the window of our room in Glasgow. That's in the direction of Park Circus (the pretty side of Glasgow)

Walking around on the Necropolis in Glasgow. A huuuuge cemetary.

The inside of our room in Glasgow. Everything was tilted or lopsided or just plain askew. It was very weird but funny too.

And I found a Dobby Door under the stairs, we thought they were used by the House Elves. We found more Dobby Doors in other places.

Me and Natasja got eaten by a rhinosaurus. We're okay now, btw.

We ended our visit to Glasgow in the Willow Tearoom, having an amazing afternoon tea. *dribbles*

There'll be more later!
