Yay, happy birthday me. Thanks for this. My day is pretty well planned. As soon as I've finished checking emails and forums I'm going to go and make my birthday cake (I'll post a piccy of it later) and then I'm going to relax for a couple of hours before taking my son to his friends birthday party. After that I'll be cooking dinner and then, once the kids are in bed, I'm going to pour myself a nice drink - probably Amaretto and coke - and relax some more.

My cake was an 8" square, so not exactly small, but not that big either. Here's a clicky piccy -

It's basically a hard sugar (pastillage) plaque that I painted with food colours. I found the picture on yahoo image search, adjusted the size, printed it and then traced it onto grease-proof paper and cut it out to use as a template - in other words, I cheat :)

Of course I should make my own cake, the making is half the fun of it. It's my hobby.

As for getting drunk, not a chance, I had one glass of amaretto and coke and then went to bed at about 8:30pm, I was tired. It's over an hours walk to where my son's friend was having her party, and I don't drive. The buses are useless on a sunday, so we walked there, and got a lift back. Plus I was up early - never a good thing for me.
