Title: Fire + Water Talk

:o <---me during the episode
Okay...it's not like anything superbly shocking happened, but still...
I have to say, I LOVED the episode. True, it was a Charlie ep, which helps sway me somewhat, but it WAS good. And I keep loving Mr. Eko more and more.
I know that Locke is trying to "protect" Claire and Aaron from Charlie, but I think he (Locke) got a little carried away hitting him (Charlie).
When Liam told Charlie he sold the piano, I was so upset. He was being so selfish...taking the money which was rightfully Charlie's and then just abandoning him.
hmmmph.
And then at the end...Charlie put his hood on, which made me want to cry. (I know I'm being silly, but it's so sad to see him insecure and alone).
*sigh*....On a lighter note...what did everyone think about the "diapers"??? Oh my goodness...At first I was like "What the--?"...and then I just took it all in and found it quite amusing. :red:
(Oh...and I still find the potential Hurley/Libby relationship cute)

Please don't hate me for this, but I think Locke was right to hit Charlie, I wanted somebady to hit him. He needed some sense knocking into him, if nothing else. Let's face it, Claire has been through so much, and she's already had her baby stolen once, for her to wake up and find Aaron gone would have terrified her, and then to discover it was Charlie who had taken him, that must really have hurt. When Charlie took Aaron the second time, he should have asked Eko to talk to Claire, instead of pushing himself in where he wasn't welcome.
The whole situation has arisen because Charlie seems incapable of telling Claire the truth about what he has been through, and how he is feeling. Pity it's too late now.
I can't wait to see how things develop from here on.

I don't know, I just found the whole diaper add thing a bit disturbing.
It freeked me out a bit.
I know Locke is only trying to help, but why is he keeping the statues?
If he really wanted to help, he would get rid of them. I think he has
a plan for something. I mean, I like Locke, but it's a little shady to me.

True true. Good point. But I'm still not really okay with it. I mean, Claire was completely right in slapping Charlie...in fact, maybe she should have done it more than once. Locke, however....well....I think ONE punch would have been good enough. I don't know. I still feel sorry for Charlie. He doesn't know how to communicate well.

I had the same thought. It should be interesting to see when the statues are used again.

this whole episode i was confused as to what side i should be on. i could understand both charlie AND claire's point of view. i hate seeing charlie being the outcast again :( but id be mad too if someone that i trusted sooo much all of a sudden went a bit crazy.
lighter note: Dom singing :Swoon:

I think it's hard because we see what's going on INSIDE all of thier heads. But just imagine what it would be like to be one of them[Charlie, Clair& Locke] then you wouldn't know what was going on in the others mind. Clair and Locke don't know what Chalie has gone through. :(

"I don't know, I just found the whole diaper add thing a bit disturbing."
I thought it was hilairous.
I didn't know if it was a dream or not? because of the whole baby theme of the show?
I loved this episode, and I agree, Charlie deserved to be punched, but
..aw, poor charlie.
p.s I haven't posted here in forever. Does anyone remember me? I don't think so.

First: the nappy-commercial, BRILLIANT
Heehee, loved this episode! I went from "aww, the poor boy" to "Eh?" (the dream in which Charlie was wearing the boys pajama's!) and from "you stupid arsehole" and "well, you can never trust a junkie" to "nooooo!"
Very good episode, and I have to agree on the Locke-thing. John finally grew on me, but he has confused me once again with slapping Charlie unneccesary hard, and keeping the statues! Why?!
About the slapping: yes, one strike would have been reasonable, but three? Sorry, but it's not Locke's battle. It's something between Charlie and Claire, this will only trigger more jealousy on Charlie's behalf. Or will this lead to Charlie singing Jealous Guy? Hmm, that would be nice...
Charlie as a character is really interesting. You just never know if he's serious, or telling another one of his big fat jokes. Maybe he's turning into a pathological liar. :o Well, Libby can sure sort that out... Very handy, a psychologist on the island. Too bad nobody knows, cuz they all could use her. But I think Hurley might have seen her before, probably when he was institutionalised or something. Curious to see where that's going.
Faolan - February 6, 2006 05:40 PM (GMT)
Hey, I never thought of that conection between Hurly and Libby. :o That's a good one, very reasonable.

I totally loved this episode!
I also can understand both sides, Charlie and Claire.
I tought it was so sad because Charlie managed to screw things up again, like he did with Lucy.
I didn't think Locke was in his right to punch charlie like that. And I really didn't want him to take Aaron away from Charlie, I'm pretty sure Charlie was going to give Aaron back to Claire himself. I don't really get why he had to do that, why he wanted it. Is he just trying to protect Claire or is there moe behind it?
I think you're right about Libby and Hurley, Jo. I tought the same thing.

Yeah, I know what you mean!
I was feeling sorry for him, it's like he's back to how it all began for him on the island :(
