Title: second annual triple D-day
Description: Dutchies meet again

Tigerlily - January 21, 2006 02:37 PM (GMT)
HEEHEE, it's not really an event, but I just wanted to say it.

The second anual tripple D-day has been planned.
On Saturday February 4th to be exact.

So yay!!! I'm looking forward to it.

Now all we need to do is figure out where. I think Utrecht will be best. We can climb the Dom of Utrecht. HA

Hestia - January 21, 2006 04:09 PM (GMT)
Heehee! Very good plan, not just because Utrecht is my city...

earendil - January 22, 2006 09:17 AM (GMT)
Yeah! I love Dom-city!!
We can go and visit the Elf Fantasy shop!
And offcourse visit the Dom!

Do you know if Jantine is coming?

Tigerlily - January 22, 2006 03:24 PM (GMT)
yep, Jantine is coming too. So it's the four of us. (woW>
We're like the four lostketeers. uhhh yeah, whatever

(f///)

earendil - January 22, 2006 05:51 PM (GMT)
That's great! (woW>

The four Lostketeers :hee:
I can't wait to see you all again! :nany:

Hestia - January 22, 2006 06:19 PM (GMT)
Me toooooooo *acts like she's standing on top of the Dom-tower, screaming to the Lostketeers who are on the ground*

I will check first if the Dom-tower is open. I believe it has limited entrance in winter.

earendil - January 22, 2006 06:57 PM (GMT)
Oh jee, are we really going up there?
I'm a bit afraid of hights :hee:
But I geuss if I can climb up a mountain I'll be able to climb a tower.... ^_^

Hestia - January 23, 2006 03:27 PM (GMT)
You won't even know you're way high up, until you are way high up! When you're climbing the tower you can only see the steps and nothing much else. But the view is amazing. I've seen it by day and by night.

There are two levels where you can step outside and look out: if you find the first one high enough, I won't pressure you to go any higher.

earendil - January 23, 2006 06:23 PM (GMT)
Well, I'm gonna try anyway.
It's not that bad though. And if I get scared you guys just climb to the top and I'll wave at you from the ground :nany:

Hestia - January 23, 2006 06:44 PM (GMT)
Did a bit of research and found out that you can only enter the Tower on a guided tour, which start at 12am, 2pm and 4pm on Saturdays. The tours last an 1 hour.

So, are there any non-Dutchies who want to join the Second Annual Tripple D-Day? Travel and expenses at own cost, but you can crash at my place if you want to stay over ;)

Hestia - January 28, 2006 06:23 PM (GMT)
Just checking, is Utrecht the definitive place to meet? Cuz that would kinda make me the chef de mission. Or something... Perhaps Dominatrix?

Anyways, what could we do apart from climbing the Dom?

*see a movie/visit a museum
*take a walk through the city/shop
*watch some new Lost-eppies at my place (Be prepared: I live in a very small place, compared to Miranda's and we have to watch it from my computer)

earendil - January 28, 2006 06:40 PM (GMT)
Only one more week! :nany:

I really don't know what we could do....

I kinda said to my friend that I wouldn't watch any episodes without her.... Because she's getting them this week and we're going to watch them the 11th
But if you all want to watch it then it's ok by me....

A movie sounds great to!
I don't know what movies are playing at the moment.
I really want to see Narnia, but I qeuss you all saw that already

I really love Utrecht for shopping, so that fine to....

What time do you guys want to meet?

Hestia - January 29, 2006 02:05 PM (GMT)
Any time is fine by me, as I can get in town in fifteen minutes. I've seen Narnia, but I won't mind seeing it again. It's a good film (read: Tumnus is a fine faun).

Tigerlily - January 30, 2006 01:05 PM (GMT)
I'm all for seeing narnia again. Seriously, I could never get tired of it. But another movie is fine too.

Shopping is good. Best go shopping while I still have the money. I would love to go to the elf shop. Oww and I need to go to boudisque to check for some dvd's.

Or we could just go around the city and cause mayhem ( don't know how to write that)

Any time is fine by me. If jantine doesn't have to work she'll sleep over at my place friday so we can be in Utrecht pretty early. In the morning it's an easy ride. How does 10.30-ish sound

owww heehee we could do a european Dom day next time. OMG that would be so much fun. Sorry, got a bit carried away there.

Hestia - January 30, 2006 01:34 PM (GMT)
10.30 ish sounds good. And mayhem is perfect too  I'll start saving money for Saturday then. I think I have enough in the fridge to eat this week, and it helps that I'm invited for dinner at friends on Wednesday. Although I will have to buy them a present for their new house...

Ah, I won't be able to see Dick&Dom in da bungalow then, but that's a small price to pay.

Yay, excited!

RonjaTook - January 31, 2006 02:00 PM (GMT)
Have fun on your Dom day! :hyper: And remember to tell us all the details. :Wink1:

I wish I could be with you, since Germany is not that far away. Too bad I have to work this weekend. :Bum:

earendil - February 1, 2006 04:21 PM (GMT)
Thanks Marina, wish you could be there too :hugy:

10.30 sounds good for me.
What platform are you and Jantine arriving on, Miranda? And what time? I'll go and see ns.nl tonight.

Only two days to go (woW>

Hestia - February 2, 2006 08:49 PM (GMT)
Yay, start the countdown! Only 37 hours to go.

I'll come to Utrecht Centraal to pick you up. Let's meet at the former "trefpunt". It is a statue now, it is in front of the large board with the departing trains.

I'll be wearing a pink carnation and a smoking bib. If I can get hold of it before Saturdaymorning...

earendil - February 3, 2006 07:41 AM (GMT)
I just checked and I'll be there at 10.31 ^_^

I'll be wearing uhm... a black jacket, just like at least another 1000 people at the station :hee:

Countdown, only 25 hours and 50 minutes to go :nany:

Tigerlily - February 3, 2006 09:32 AM (GMT)
g'day my fellow lostketeers.

I can be there 10.30 on the dot.

I talked to Jantine yesterday and she's in Amsterdam on Saturday morning. She'll be at the trainstation about 11 or so. I can call her to be there half an hour earlier, but if she can't we'll just have to bohter train travelers with our Dom madness for about 20 minutes or so.

Oww and I'll be wearing a long black coat and a stripey hat and scarf and gloves. Okay, maybe not the hat, that will give me hat hair.
I might wear pink hat.

(woW> 24 hours to gooooo!!!

Hestia - February 3, 2006 11:42 AM (GMT)
No news on the pink carnation and smoking bib... Might just join you in the black coat display. And since I can't count, I guess it's less than 22 hours.

Am looking forward to the bothering-stage of our meet.

*bother bother*

*bother bother*

Am I good?

Oh, is anyone planning on taking a camera? We have to take pictures of us with The Dom... And we have to keep accurate account of how long The Dom actually is. You know, to compare it to Dom. :Wink1:

Tigerlily - February 3, 2006 12:00 PM (GMT)
you are very good. I'm bothered by you already.

Let me give it a try. *bother, bother, bother. Poke poke*
oww, poking is fun too.

I'll definitely take my camera to to take pics of us and Dom from all angles. I'll see if I can find a measuring uhh tape? stick? to measure him. I mean it. Measure it.

earendil - February 3, 2006 02:16 PM (GMT)
Wauw, you two are really good at bothering!
I'm practicing my botheringskills on my mom today, I'm getting good at it :hee:

I'll bring my camera too!
I hope I wont be to anoying, because I take pictures of everything ^_^

18 hours and 45 minutes to go (woW>

Hestia - February 3, 2006 03:06 PM (GMT)
Heehee, this is a true pre-party. Let's roll out a red carpet and see if any celebs find us.

Measuring tape/stick is also handy when we're bothering people. Good for poking at a distance.

earendil - February 3, 2006 08:11 PM (GMT)
13 hours and twenty minutes to go :nany:

Hestia - February 3, 2006 08:28 PM (GMT)
I just checked the cinema's, and Narnia is screened at 15.45 and 19.00 in my second favourite cinema. In my favourite theatre it's only screened at 18.10. Just thought I'd mention it tonight, so you can already make some thoughts on it.

Whee, only a couple of hours!

Tigerlily - February 3, 2006 09:37 PM (GMT)
woooooow only less hours to go than the last post.

yay for Narnia. I would so love to see it again.
EEEEEEP. I'm emptying my memory card so I can take lots of pics tomorrow. Hmm, I say that now, but I always forget to take them. I'm stupid like that.

Hestia - February 4, 2006 05:01 PM (GMT)
And I'm home again from the Second Annual Triple D-day... *sighs* It was tiring, not the company, but the many miles we walked.

Bummer of the day: we were too late to join a tour of the Dom, but we did manage to take some explicit photo's of Miranda with Dom. She'll post them some time soon.
We all bought way to much stuff... but stuff is good, so we shouldn't complain. And some of them were real bargains, of things we had always wanted.

And we talked and laughed A LOT! Shared some interesting Lost-theories, and are probably going to share a lot of files in the next couple of days. Can't wait for the next meet, which will probably be on the Elf Fantasy Fair. And non-Dutchies are invited too!

Hacky - February 4, 2006 10:30 PM (GMT)
QUOTE (Hestia @ Feb 4 2006, 05:01 PM)
And non-Dutchies are invited too!

 it would be nice for more of us to meet up I think.

Really glad you all had a wonderful day, and looking forward to seeing the pictures (If you decide to show them) :)

Tigerlily - February 5, 2006 10:56 PM (GMT)
Yeah a European D-day would be kind of cool.

okay, so we didn't get to climb Dom but I did hug him and give him a kiss. Yay.

Well, I had fun. I'm looking forward to the next meet.
Elf Fantasy fair is gonna be fun.

Oww I wore my jingle bells around the house. Seriously, I cannot get lost when I wear those. They're noisy.

and here's my pics. I should have taken more.

the pictures

Hestia - February 6, 2006 08:39 AM (GMT)
The pics are cool! Too bad I'm a bit blurry. Shouldn't move too fast... (Well, hey, prove that my second nick Sheeta (as in a she-cheeta is well picked. I'm nearly faster than the speed of light!).

Miranda, you should really see Dom again. You go well together! And let's forget that some junkie or drunk might have peepeed against the Dom...

Lofty - February 6, 2006 11:46 AM (GMT)
Wait what is "DOM"? A church

Thanks for sharing the pictures, I like your rainbow gear very bright. :hyper:

Hestia - February 6, 2006 12:35 PM (GMT)
Yup, the Domtower is the highest churchtower in the Netherlands. It was attached to a giant church, but during a storm the middle piece of the church collapsed. The Domtower now stands alone, almost in the middle of town, parted from the church by a square.
I can see the tower now, btw, when I sit up straight.

Mrs. Took - February 6, 2006 02:50 PM (GMT)
Oooh I had so much fun last Saturday..we should really try to set up a European Dom Day at the Elf Fantasy Fair...there are lots of foreigners coming to the fair and there are campsites close to the EFF area...

I simply loved our little Lost theory thingy in the Free Record Shop...did you guys see all the people staring at us...hahaha..so funny!!
Thank goodness we can just act crazy at the EFF without getting stared at (woW>

Only one minor bad thing..I just had my lecture of American Law...and I have an exam on the monday after the fair *cries*...not fair..

Hestia - February 6, 2006 03:55 PM (GMT)
Boo for exams! Why don't teachers take things like the EFF in account? I had the same thing last year: a paper-deadline right before the fair, which left me shattered and unable to go.

Heehee, the Lost-theory-debate in the Free Record Shop was cool yeah. Do you think we bothered them? Or maybe we brought Lost under the attention, and people wanted to buy the dvd's because of us! Then the FRS should honour us with free dvd's for the rest of our lives.

I am really excited about this possible European Dom-meet at the Elf Fantasy Fair. I do hope some of you are able to go on a trip to the Netherlands. It will be awesome, seeing more of you in real life. I had great fun last Saturday, just being able to talk in public about Dom, Lost and other televisionseries and movies, without people going "yeah, whatever, can we talk about something else now?" on me...

Dom is so under-appreciated over here... :Bum:

Mrs. Took - February 7, 2006 02:50 PM (GMT)
I hope I can manage to squeeze all the studying in the days before the actual fair...I just HAVE to go...[/desperate]

Hahaha..they were looking in a kind of 'OMG fangirls' way...but seen the fact that lots of people in the Netherlands know LOST they sure as hell listened to our little theory..I bet some of them were cheering inside for the LOST discussion...but that could also be my 'I-want-everyone-to-like-LOST" feeling talking ;)..

Yeah, we should really try to get as much people to the fair as possible...it's awesome to meet people in real life instead of only online...

earendil - February 7, 2006 06:18 PM (GMT)
Wow, I didn't notice everyone was staring at us!
I bet they were all just listening to us about our theory, it was very intersting offcourse ^_^

Great pics Miranda! To bad the only one I'm on is blurry :hee:
I'll upload my pics as soon as I find my uhm.... kabeltje... I can't find it anywhere :Bum:

It would be so great to have more people coming to the fair! (woW>
