Title: The 23rd Psalm Talk

Wow. I really enjoyed this episode. It was nice to find out a little bit about the mysterious Mr. Eko. He's emotionally and physically tough. I was sad, though, about what happened to his brother. :(
And during most of the show, my mind went through a "mad-at-him-sad-for-him" tug-of-war concerning Charlie.

i really like mr. eko. his story was reaallly interesting. and i KNEW that the monster was fear! if you stare it down, itll go away! locke did it, and now mr. eko. i think my theory is right
aaaaah charlie and claire! i think hes gonna start using again since claire "kicked him out" i was like "wheres he gonna go? live on the streets?" hehe.

I've loved Mr. Eko since "The Other 48 Days." I just adore him.
This is definitely my favorite episode of the season so far. I just can't think how the bull pucky you give a logical explanation for the "monster." It was making mechanical noises, but... did you SEE it!? I was not prepared for that. Wow.
And yes, I cried at the end. The verses and the montage... *sniff* Please tell me I'm not the only one.

Ok, did anyone else see the "faces" in the monster? Here's an idea;
It's the colective souls of those that died on the island. Not sure, but it sounded good as any to me.

Yeah, I thought I saw faces, but I also saw what seemed to be electrical flashes, almost like sheet lightening, or camera flashes. There was something machine like and controlled about it, but my hubby made an interesting point, the two people who have faced it and been unharmed are Lock, and Eko, and they are the two people who were not afraid of it. Does it only attack fear?

i need to go watch it again in slow motion. people are saying that theres images of his past in the smoke....weird

Smoke Pix
quite interesting...

Wow, thanks for that, Pascal. I saw flashes of people, but not like that! That is some crazy stuff.

You're welcome, sis...
Aren't those scary???

I just watched it and totally loved it. I believe this was the first episode that had me rolling on the floor laughing out loud at the end. Charlie and his secret stash of heroine: hilarious!
And geez... if anyone read my "I'm not sure I like this banner Mel made"-post in January's Board News... I can't believe how close I was to the truth! Mel, I totally love your banner now, girl. But it's just scary that I guessed the contents of this episode, when I expected the banner to be about the Charlie-episode.
Interesting thoughts on the smoke. When the noises started, I was thinking of some sort of mechanical crane-arm that would come for Eko. When it was smoke, I was even more scared. I didn't want Eko to die, but since Charlie was up in the tree, it was either Eko or Charlie. I guess Charlie would've died if he was still on the ground, he has a lot to think about still before he can face the smoke.
When you call it "the smoke" it isn't as scary as when you see it...

Maybe it shows people their worst fears, or the worst parts of their lives? :thinky:

I loved it! Whoom the tree comes up and your like WTFFFFFF! Jump, and then Echo gives that SAME look that Locke did and you think "Oh man another mystery!" and then you see it, awesome.
But I'm not sure it kills people... does it? I mean has anyone ever been killed by it in the past? Liked this sppy a lot.

I watched all eps in one go, so I'm just gonna post here instead of in all of them. And this ep is the one that got me the most anyway.
oh my god man, that was one scary monster thingy. I screamed when it appeared even though I knew it was gonna happen. Jantine warned me about it.
I had no, I repeat NO idea it would be a sparking black cloud. Woow man.
Mr. Eko rocks. I really love this character.
So Walt's near a computer that's linked to the one in the hatch. That certainly is interesting.
You know, the others haven't hurt anybody. I mean. Okay they killed one or two in the beach camp. But they only took people from the other side. They didn't kill them. So........what do they need them for?
Oh yeah, and Charlie's starting to really bug me. He's being mean to too many people. And what he said about Claire. About how she needs to learn so much concerning being a mum and all. Jerk. Like he knows it all. *grumble*
I didn't even feel bad for him when Clair kicked him out. Poo, go build your own tent.......jerk. :Wink1:
