Board News; January 2006


OK, new year, new format, new style of doing things. Its time to get down to the good stuff.

First off board news will no longer be an weekly or bi weekly event. There is just not enough news to warrant writing and not enough people reading it to be worth the effort. So it will feature once a month, Any questions issues etc, should be placed in that months section. A new form of board statistics will be posted up each week.


So off we go, news and issues which will effect the board and usually you throughout January 2006...


Banners:

The sexy little things at the top of every page! Art and time donated by members to the board for all to see and make this place hotter. If you want to add something to the board mix send them all to the boards chosen, who will swoon, guide and love you.

MADDY

900 pixels wide and 350 pixels high That’s the size you should be going for, make it smaller or bigger the board wont care, it’ crush or stretch your works of art, making them scream and look gross looking. You were warned my little tykes!

Like a banner so much you cant stop drooling? Want to hire the artist for your own biddings? Then wave your adorable little mouse over the art and wham there you go the creators name. Awesome.

Dom linkage…

What’s a site without at least some contact with the inspiration behind the fandom? Last year some subtle investigations started… just how popular would it be to maybe send Dom stuff from the D and F family? Your call! You have the power of the brain and typing fingers, write, post and lets hear your thoughts.


Calendar

Sometimes its lame, you start a topic and no one bothers to reply. Who’s fault is that? If you want to talk TV/music you can add release dates or air times to the calendar which shows up for everyone to SEE and be reminded! You can do it with other stuff too! TRY IT!

Bah ABC suck… more weeks to wait. Hang in there have your say heard by all who read the threads… post my pretties post.


More members

We want more members, more member’s means more posts, and more posts means a bigger community! So lets get more members to join. If your willing to post links on journals, mention it in passing to friends who might like Dom, LOST etc (Sometimes you can force them with things too *nods* ) Or if you have ideas, want to submit buttons etc, give us your ideas.



Skins and Adverts

Both were having problems last year, ads rocking around like they owned the place and skins being so lazy it was like the board was covered in cellulite! No more! Ads can go sell there crap to some brainless clinkers, and with a Buffy back slayer in hand the skins are back in line, tight and positively glowing. Now isnt that nice



STUFF

Got something on your mind? Stuff you want to talk about and stuff about stuff? Then if its stuff about the board send your stuff to someone who would love to read your stuff, like the moderators, WE LOVES YOUR STUFF! If its stuff not about board stuff, find a place on the board and fill it with your stuff! Stuff is good.

Just a quick note... I'll be doing some small changes to the board, many due to request from members to make the board better, so keep sending them to me. I'll list them as they get done... :) as always this board belongs to its members so if you have anything to say, postive or critical I'm always willing to listen. :)

+ Changed Beach Charlie Background to something darker ("lazy Days").

+ Updated all the LOST epps due to show in the US and added the forums

+ Added two new banners for the upcoming Fire + Water LOST episode which is suppose to be Charlie Centric :hyper:

+ Removed excess clutter around the board, namely the scrolling news box which hasnt been updated in yonks!

+ Added a Paypal button, The board costs money to run, if you want to donate funds even if its only 50p, that would be awesome! :) A huge thanks to Glitter who donated £5 (9 dollars) last week.


* Re arrange smiles so there is a better selection in the clicky box

* We used to have a wider choice of text colours, so bringing them back

* Some of the skins are blending or no longer suitable so replacements will be found, The Charlie skin will still remain as default, but as always if you want to change there are almost 10 others to pick from :)





On another note the STUFF comps will be ending a week from today, so get your posts in! New comps will be going up early next week, I hope you decide to enter. :) If anyone wants to run their own comp now they see how it works please PM me.

Also could you please make sure you all have the listed email in you profile as one which you check at least once in a while, if the board was ever down or moved there might be no other way to contact you.

ok, i LOVE the Lazy Days skin! its very relaxing and just...works :)

Erm, I love the Charlie-skin too, but the new Charlie-banners are a bit spoilerish. I looked at one for some time while I waited for the boards to load, and then it suddenly struck me what I was watching. I don't like to be spoilered, and the least when I don't expect it... :(

(the banner concerned: It was the one with the Maria-statue and Charlie looking at some flames.)

I don't want to censor the artwork of some of our boardmembers, but could the banner-chief executive be a bit more choosy when picking banners next time?

I dont understand how its a spoiler? :unsure: Unless you already know what's going to happen... that statue was seen in Exodus Part 3 which by my records all the countries showing LOST have already aired it... plus are the flames part of the Dom pic or has someone just added them for the "fire + water" effect?

I dont know what that eppy is about... and cant see any spoilers from that pic personally lol... do other people feel the same as Jo? :unsure: If I've missed something about it please can you point it out to me Jo :dum: ... *gets very scared that Jo is mega angry*








+ Added a load of new Fonts and Colours to the board, ought to work for ALL skins and all Internet Browsers. Test them out :Wink1:

+ Added and changed around the Clickable Smilies, also removed some of the ones being stored as no one uses them. Thanks to Jess and her yummy bucket for the new ones

+ Placed all new forums etc, under the controls of mods, sorry if you were unable to make any changes while they were offline.

No Rich, I am not angry, just anxious about getting spoilered in very secret ways. Maybe I'm a bit paranoid on the subject.
When I reconsidered my post when I was offline, I thought that you might be angry with me, is that paranoid or what...

I just don't know... I might be reading things into it, but (spoilers may be ahead, that's why I'm colouring it yellow. But it can also be one of Jo's crazy theories :craze1: ) I thought you blackened out a large fire that Charlie had started. A fire to burn the heap of heroine filled Maria-statues, as a way for Charlie to fight his addiction. They way he holds his head, it seems like he is watching something, possible with some sort of regret.

We all knew Charlie would have to deal with the drug issues eventally because of the crashed plane and him finding it all last season, we also know that he will get over the drugs because it's a TV show which likes to have "morals" in it. And second your thoery never crossed my mind until you just told it! :lol:
