weeeell, this weekend we had the Ring*Con in Germany and - of course! - I went there, so I thought if you were interested, I could post a report?

If Billy's telling the truth... WE ARE THE FIRST FIRST FIRST EVER CONVENTION IN THE WORLD WHERE HE SANG A SONG FOR THE AUDIENCE! Geeeez it was so awesome. :LOVE:

Are you kidding us? Of course we, (well I do 100% anyway) want a report! Did you get a signed stuff? Have you got photos? Photos are good. :YES: Is there any news on The Hobbit? Details details. :hyper:

To your questions:
Yeah I did get lots of signed stuff (most of the actors were signing for free), so I got an autograph of... let's see. John Noble, Thomas Robins, Peter Tait, Stephen Ure, Royd Tolkien, Mana Hira-Davies (haha I was the only one who got an autograph with a heart underneath it LOL, you should've seen my friend, she likes him so much LOOOL), Jonathan Harding, and yeah I got an autograph of Sandro Kopp (you had to pay 10€ for those, that's not very expensive) because I like him so so so much and the same of Jarl Benzon.
But you can't really say that the 'autographs' of Sandro & Jarl are autographs, 'cause Sandro (who's a great drawer) drew me picture of Stephen Ure in the book and Jarl drew me a picture, which I suspect shows Barad-Dur, the eye of Sauron, the hills and the field in front of the Morannon. in his own, abstract, kinda comical way ;)

I got tons of pictures, mostly of the stars, though, and most of them arent that good cause it was always so dark in the panels.
I might post some tomorrow.

But Billy told us - again - about the script he and Dom are writing. But it's still same news as last year - they (Dom and Billy) dont see each other much, so it's not making real progress- there are two writers involved and stuff but yeah....

So yeah, that for tonight :D

It sounded ace. Were there many people there? If he was able to draw things for everyone then I suppose there couldnt have been.

Pity about Dom Billy and The Hobbit in the sense that there is nothing to report. :( I'd have expected to hear something by now. I guess Lost keeps Dom away from darling Billy.

I look forward to seeing some pictures. I've never been to anything like that before so it would be nice to get an idea of what its like.

Well at the convention, there were around 4000 people (probably more)- but in the autograph session of Sandro and Jarl and Lawrence (Makoare) and so on, there weren't many. Especially when I came there, cause I went thre first thing in the morning, right when it opened ;)
And you know I had like , this name badge, saying "Ruby" because that's my nickname in almost every forum, and Sandro looked at it and was like "Ruby?" and I "Nah, I'm Lisa. Ruby's just my internet nickname." "Lisa... with ie or normal?" *drop* I've never seen anyone called Liesa to be honest LOL

but you should've seen John Noble! There were like... 2000-3000 people in the autograph session and he shook EVERY SINGLE HAND!
It was sooo amazing! :D

:o Wowsers. That's a lot of people. That's so awesome about John Noble. I really want to meet him. Was he really nice??? Sounds like he was since he took the time to shake everyone's hand. Very cool.

You know, John Noble WAS absolutly nice. In the autograph session, he always wrote "RingCon 05" under his name, and I couldnt read it so I was like "Eeeh... what does that say?" And he just smiled at me and told me and shook my hand and .. yaaah, he was fantastic.
And in the panels! He was probably one of the most interesting guys I've ever seen in a panel. *nod*
So Ill post some pictures inthe afternooon - hopefully.

That's so awesome. I hope I'll be able to go to ORC so I can meet him!
