Title: Another "sus" Dom and Evie article

Knuxs - August 29, 2005 06:55 PM (GMT)
Normally I'd take any article with a pinch of salt, but after reading the quotes that Pascal posted HERE the other week, I'm a little sus about this...

QUOTE
Castaway Evangeline Lilly exclusively
Reveals to MIKE PARKER that she
and co-star Dominic
Monahan fell in love on
the set of the hit show.

Stunning Evangeline Lilly, the hottest beauty in hit TV series Lost, has broken her silence to reveal how she’s found joy with the man of her dreams.
The actress, who plays castaway plane crash survivor Kate Austin on screen, has finally come clean about her off-screen romance with co-star Dominic Monaghan.
She says: “With him I feel at peace and I feel fulfilled. I couldn’t be happier if I tried.”
Evangeline celebrated her 26th birthday earlier this month with Lord of the Rings heart-throb Dominic at her three-bedroom beach bungalow on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, where Lost is filmed.
“He has become my guiding light, my knight in shining armour and my favourite person in the whole world rolled into one” says the star.
For months, the couple denied they were in love, although their romance was an open secret on set and they were regularly seen arm-in-arm in public,
The relationship blossomed, says Evangeline last year when he taught her how to handle her new-found fame.
She says “Dominic can’t go anywhere without being recognised. He never snubs fans, but embraces them with enthusiasm instead.
I’ve experienced that a bit and seen his reaction. He believes that fans are his supporters – and he is glad to have that support.“I’ve gotten to be very positive about that and a great many other things because of his positive attitude. This whole thing – Dominic and Lost and a taste of fame – has happened so suddenly”
Just four years ago, Canadian-born Evangeline was a waitress, struggling to make it as an actress and model while wed to a handyman who helped pay for her night school classes.
Her big break came when she was spotted by Lost executive producer J.J. Abrams, who insisted ABC network bosses hire her and enthuses: “Despite very little experience, she has a very confident way about her.
“She’s beautiful and she’s got a great smile – even if it’s a little goofy”
Evangeline is no stranger to the dangers of the wilderness in real life.
After leaving school in her native Fort Saskatchewan in Alberta, Canada, she found herself working in the Philippines as a missionary aged just 18.
“I lived in grass huts in a jungle in the Philippines for three weeks” she says.
“I climbed trees like a native and swam in crocodile-infested rivers”
Evangeline laughs at a memory which would make most people shudder with fear, adding: “There really were crocs floating around in there. But I was so friggin’ desperate to bathe I didn’t care”
When she returned to Canada – fully intending to return to missionary work, she was spotted by an agent of the famous Ford Model Agency and a new dream was born.
The early years trying to break- through as a model and actress were tough but Evangeline giggles at the realisation: “I guess I’ve ended up in the big time but still doing the dirty work”
An action packed list of hobbies including rock-climbing and kayaking still didn’t prepare her for the gritty role of manacled bad-girl-turned-castaway-good-girl in Lost.
“It infuriates me when we’re criticised for looking like ‘beautiful people’ who some how survived an air crash yet still appear glamorous.
“How I wake up is exactly how my hair stays in the show. We wear almost no make-up and a lot of dirt and oil is literally, caked on us.
“At the end of a day’s shoot, I’ve always got bruises all over my body, my hands are always totally scratched-up and my nails and always filthy.
“I honestly think we look exactly how we would if we were genuinely stranded on a tropical island.”
If most of her body ends up battered on set, Evangeline has an anatomical quirk – which deserves a place in any celebrity trivia hall of fame- she uses to entertain amazed fellow cast members.
She explains “I never developed hard cartilage in my ears because I played with them since I was a baby.
“As a result, I can fold each ear entirely inside out and I can put each one ’inside’ itself, so it looks as though I have no ears at all. I’ve been doing that as a party trick for years”
Keeping a straight – and beautiful – face has turned her into a pin-up in America, where Maxim Magazine has this year named her second sexiest woman in the country.
“I don’t know about that” she says, starting to pull back one of her flexible lugs in jest.
“Seriously, I can’t imagine myself as a sex symbol and I’m amazed anyone can”
Maybe a certain co-star might? At that suggestion, Evangeline blushes to her dark roots and declares “I’m still very shy and nervous and Dominic has truly brought me out of my shell professionally.
“But as for our private life and who finds who or what sexy, I’m going to leave that to the imagination. Let’s just say I’m not Lost in that area”

All stuff in bold is a direct quote of what she has said before some weeks ago now in fact... now maybe its just me, but how likely is it that you would say the exact same thing in an "exclusive" interview? :lollol:

Proof you shout! Well of course I don’t make up rubbish. ;)

LINK TWO

Two sources one, two weeks old, with word for word quotes that appear in this Sunday article. Read them, it’s not hard to see that someone is coping someone… >W< :badword:

I dont know how true it would be that she would come across as being all shy then make a huge sexual joke at the end. Hmmmm

Also anyone else find it odd that if they have been dating for a year that Dom has only gone to her house a few times? :craze1: I thought when you dated you spent a lot of time together?

OK maybe I'm being too protective of our Dom's innocence :hee: , but where about's is it that she says she loves Dom or he loves her? In fact it comes across as more as Dom being her personal guru and/or close friend. All except the last comment about the sex, which just doesn’t seem to fit with the rest of the article.

Finally Dom's religious ideas... how can him and Evie be suited, if the reaction on this board is anything to go by...

Ahhh *runs and hides as romantics throw rotten eggs*

I’m sorry OK! But as I read it, it seems to have been cleverly written with a few quotes woven in to try and make us believe it. Can you blame me for being sus! :D

Tigerlily - August 29, 2005 07:31 PM (GMT)
I decided not to believe a thing untill they openly declare their love for eachother.

I think you might be right. They might just be twisting her words.

what on earth does that have to do with love? I don't get it? The first and the second bit don't connect.

I also thought about the religion thing. But if she's really crazy about him, she won't care (at least not in the beginning)

Knuxs - August 29, 2005 07:36 PM (GMT)
I agree totally  , when its pure and true then I’ll hold my hands up and say good luck to them. Dom is a great person as well as an amazing role model so of course I wish he was happy. I just hate the way gossip papers, act like they have some special insight into famous people’s lives, that us mere mortals don’t. But when you read the garbage they write, I mostly just feel sorry for them.

IloveDommie - August 30, 2005 12:09 AM (GMT)
I agree with you Knuxs, i feel that if she really is considering him as more of a great costar/friend type thing. Especially the bit of how he taught her how to handle fame. Ehhhh, i hate how the papres misconstude things so horribly...

Meriagrin Brandytook - August 30, 2005 11:03 AM (GMT)
I don't know whether to believe that or not, but, I have to admit, I hope it's true. Whenever I've seen piccies of them together they've seemed so close, and they look great together, there is something there, almost an undercurrent , that hints towards a 'romantic involvement'. I want them to be together, and happy.

earendil - August 31, 2005 06:21 PM (GMT)
I'm not so sure what to believe. I also hope it's treu, they look so great together!

About the religion thing. My friend is very religieus and her boyfriend doesn't believe in God or anything! And they've worked that out..... I think if you trully love someone it doesn't matter what you believe..... I think....

I think Kate has to be killed off .... :red:

IloveDommie - September 2, 2005 12:25 AM (GMT)
LMAO!! i can't say anything else except that I agreee!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha! she does seen to drone on and onn..and blah blah blah, BULL!!! lol.

cheese_sticks - October 21, 2005 10:36 AM (GMT)
I think that's just been worded extremely well. Journalists pride themselves on taking things that people say out of context.
But did anyone else hear on ET that Dom and Evie were in a very expensive ring shop together?
Ooooher!

Lofty - October 21, 2005 10:40 AM (GMT)
 That cracked me up. There were some pictures of them walking down the street too I think. One had Dom with his arm around her, and another I think (dont quote me on this) holding hands :o :o But it didnt look "right" it was very strange that media types were taking pictures on them in that way. Unless anyone has any I cant really explain. It looked sort of well fake.

I suppose in the end I rather it be true than just the lost producers asking them to pose in order to get more media attention for lost. It it were the latter I would be really annoyed

XxXDomLoverXxX - January 22, 2006 03:09 PM (GMT)
I just got an article from Contact music that they are now Engaged. Here it is:

MONAGHAN AND LILLY ENGAGED

British actor DOMINIC MONAGHAN and his LOST co-star EVANGELINE LILLY are reportedly engaged.

Monaghan got down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend on the Hawaii set of the hit series last week (ends 20JAN06), to which Lilly replied "Yes, yes, yes!"

A source says, "They want to spend the rest of their lives together."

How true it is i don't know..but i am jealous as hell if it's true :Bum:

Well, it could be true....
I had read somewhere a little while ago that Dom was buying a ring....
But I think we'll never know for sure unless one of them tells or we see Evie in that white wedding dress ^_^

Here's another intervieuw with Dom where he does talk about Evie...

Dominic & Evangeline's Hush-Hush Love Life

Some Lost castaways are obsessed with numbers – particularly the six cursed numerals that frequently pop up on the hit series. Dominic Monaghan, however, is all about the alphabet.

"Dom is obsessed with Scrabble," says castmate Jorge Garcia, who plays Hurley. "He plays it all the time – even on his cell phone at work."

Admits Monaghan: “People will say things, and I’ll Scrabble what they say in my head. I’ll think of triple word scores all the time.”

He’s leaving Lost viewers equally spellbound. As washed-up rocker and reformed heroin addict Charlie, Monaghan has proved that his well-received turn as hobbit Merry in the blockbuster Lord of the Rings trilogy was no fantastical fluke.

"He's the life of the party, but he takes work very seriously," says Lost executive producer Bryan Burk. "Coming off the $3 billion franchise, he knew this wasn't The Dominic Monaghan Show. He's been very gracious.” Yet the actor, 29, has landed more than just a thriving post-Rings career since heading to Hawaii in 2004 to shoot the ABC series. He has also developed a hush-hush romance with Lost costar Evangeline Lilly, 26, who plays Kate.

Monaghan guards details about his personal life as if he were protecting his show’s top-secret plot twists. "The one thing I can try and keep sacred and special is my love life," he says, though the two have been photographed cuddling and kissing ever since they made a cozy appearance at last year’s Golden Globes.

Still, he can’t resist dropping a few clues to the status of their relationship. After referencing a favorite quote about love from his idol John Lennon, he says, “When love is in your life, you feel like you’re on the right track.”

So it is love then? Monaghan lets a huge grin substitute for a reply. "We both have the ability to live in the moment," he says of Lilly, "and we both are not that impressed by what is thrown at you by the industry.”

Monaghan is already painfully familiar with the fickleness of fame. Born in Berlin, he grew up on German army bases (dad Austin was a science teacher for the British armed forces; mom Maureen was a nurse) before moving to Manchester, England, at 11, where he acted in plays and a British TV series before landing his big break in the Lord of the Rings films.

But on the heels of his "amazing" Rings euphoria, Monaghan found himself jobless, watching as his castmates easily landed follow-up projects. "I was depressed for quite a while," he says. "I understood for the first time what it meant to be unhappy."

That depression came in handy during his Lost audition for Charlie. "Here's someone who's only had a glimpse of fame, and then the door has been slammed in his face," says Monaghan.

The megahit series has finally busted that door down for Monaghan, who treasures his new life on Oahu. Still, he’s learned to prepare himself for the run of good luck to end. "I can pick it all up and go," he says. "Aside from my car, everything I own fits in a suitcase."

 I have no idea any more, it's as confusing as watching Lost!

Be happy Dom! :hugy:

The last quote is my only mega pick out... can Lilly fit in his bags too? :hee:

Tigerlily - January 23, 2006 08:08 AM (GMT)
Hmmm, I'm not sure. I read it too. Keep in mind it's gossip magazines. Most of what's written there is pure bogus.

I was just thinking this morning: he's really a star now, he made it into the gossip columns. It sucks, but I guess that's the price for being famous.

We'll never know if it's really true unles one or both of them come out and say it in public. Until then, I'm really not paying much attention to any of it.

Lofty - January 23, 2006 02:28 PM (GMT)
Utter crap  it just seems to be one story getting out of hand, going out together and being soul mates, in a shop looking at rings leads to getting married. Bet you anything the next headliner will be "Hobbit to be a daddy" :hee:

Dont want to pretend to know Dom or Evie that well, but (from what I've seen) both tend to "play" up to the cameras they laugh and get sarcastic but in a witty way.

earendil - February 24, 2006 04:29 PM (GMT)
Well Lofty, it seems you're right about that :die:

New rumors in Monalilly-land

Wauw, if all the girls with a body like that is pregnant. I think there will be a lot off babies born this year ^_^

When I saw this pic for the first time 2 weeks ago, I KNEW that this rumours would be on its way..... :hee:

Tigerlily - February 26, 2006 05:38 PM (GMT)
I totally agree with Heidi. Man, I look more pregnant than her most of the time.

Faolan - February 28, 2006 03:28 PM (GMT)
Well as for her being pregnant, check out the way her back is arched. Add to that it might be her "time of the month", and voila', rumors of a baby.
As for them getting engaged, if it's true, good for them. Dom deserves to be happy. If she can make him happy, then what more could we ask for. A happy Dom, is a good Dom. :nany:
