Knuxs - July 17, 2005 06:29 PM (GMT)
Board News week 22, 17th to the 23rd of July

Banners:

OK please send all banners to Maddy, as soon as she has enough to either replace ALL or one or two of the current banners she will set up a poll. I put both my hands up when I say that I’m the worst Pain shop blender in the world! But I am better than I was, no more huge white to black messy lines for me! So if you think your rubbish, unless you practice you will probably always be that way, so just TRY!

Board SATS

Up shortly, please add any comments about them, if you have "reasons" why posts are as they are, or if you disagree with them

Harry Potter
Harry Potter area in effect, please use it…for more details check out the info thread in that area.

Lost Area
It’s coming up to that time of year again! Lost is due to hit the American shores in oh about 45 days!!! So if you have any season two talk, spoilers, shared excitement please post in the season two area, and not one.
Also a new area for Lost episodes to be placed, Yes yes most of you will tell me that the episode forum was a dum idea as no one uses them! But to be far most of the board members are from the US, and I only set it up over half way through the current airing of season one… I still think it’s a good idea and would like to give it another shot, and with a bit of luck we will have some more members to discuss season two in the coming months… please give it a try.

It will allow for a more interactive Lost site, and as most of us do watch it, it’s a shame not to talk as a group more about the show.

Upgrade news as of 3/7/05 (No new news from last weeks Board news)

In the next few weeks/months (The upgrade time is uncertain I have tried to hunt for a date but they are being very mysterious with it) the board controllers will be upgrading all the servers to a newer version, any huge change like this may create problems, I suggest that you archive PM’s and save anything on the board you are particularly fond of in case it gets lost in the “move”. It’s unlikely but parts of the date maybe be un retrievable so its best to be safe than sorry.

If we don’t get notice the board may be offline for a while, so please try not to worry if you can’t get here. I have almost all your emails on record. If you are using a email different to the one you have registered with PM ME WITH IT ASAP so I can update records.

It was been advised that all mods (not the people <lol> )/changes be removed before the upgrade, which means the board will become VERY simple again, no skins etc. After the change has taken place they will return. So please don’t be too freaked out if that happens.

Post and counts will NOT change.

All smilies will be deleted. :( Which may mess up the board in a big way with codes and what not. I will attempt to back them all up in the next few days and try and re add them back.

Search should be re enabled, as will the custom avatar gallary. Also a shop feature may be in place, thus you can buy D and F goodies. :hee: It may be possible for users to change their own usernames. A topic marker will come into effect, thus you can see which topics you have had an input, handy if you want to read comments about your comments, (will only really have a huge effect when the board gets bigger)

There should be more to follow, any questions please ask them in here.

Vacancies:

The external project has now become linked to D and F. Ooh exciting, I will have and will be contacting some of you for “help” I’d like to think it a board effort, but that does not mean you HAVE you help, please if I ask you tell me right away if you cant do it, so far everyone has been exceptional and I thank you so much for that, but if you ever wish to withdraw or decide you don’t want to help, then tell me! I wont be mad, promise.

If you have any suggestions please post them up or PM myself or a mod.

Thanks very much for reading and being part of D and F. Enjoy your week! :Bounmir:

Week 13 total: 700 (DATA HERE)
Week 14 total: 527 (DATA HERE )
Week 15 total: 927 (DATA HERE)

This Weeks total; 809

MEAN (average number of posts per day) 115

RANGE
(The highest and lowest scores listed and then taken away to give the range of posts) 163 – 72 = 154 90

Objective Interpretation (Facts)

July 16th (Saturday) with 163 posts was the best day this week this is the third Saturday in a row that has been the best day. The worst day was July 11th (Monday) with 72 posts. A difference of 72 posts with the average post count per day reaching 115 (17 DOWN from last week.)

For the third time a Saturday becomes the only day to have the highest score.
The week was disjointed with different changes as the week progressed, no pattern can be described, no correlation
Week 16’s total: 809.

This is a 13% decrease on lasts week’s postings, placing this week 6th out of 16 weeks of chart data. With this week 186 posts below the top weeks posting.

Subjective Interpretation (My view only)

An excellent week in all honestly. Only 186 posts behind a massive score… no real reasons, I’ll leave you to think them up yourself. :Wink1:

About the upgrading: I have had some difficulty posting messages this week. The board went incredibly slow and my message didn't get through, so I had to rewrite the whole thing. Could this be an effect of the upgrading?

Knuxs - July 17, 2005 09:31 PM (GMT)
Happened to me too :( Its been happening on some other forums as well so I always copy before I try and post... I dont think its to do with the uprgrade, and I havent made any changes to the board in the last week... could it just be a bad day of internet connection? :thinky:

Hestia - July 18, 2005 05:06 PM (GMT)
No, I have a very good ethernet (LAN) connection. It's a student network-thingy, which doesn't have bad days.

I've started copying before posting too. It's the best remedy, I guess.
