So, the first chapter. A BIG WOW, I love it! Amazing how Jo can pull off with writing from a Prime Minister's POV in a book called Harry Potter.
The issues raised are very grown-up, I wonder if kids really get the grasp of it, and it already scares the sh*t out of me.

So, what do you think of the lion-like man! I had read some speculations that he might be the new MoM, but I'd never guessed that he would be introduced in the first chapter. I do have to get used to his name... Rufus Whatsitagain? *gets her book* Rufus Scrimgeour... Scrimgeour... Scrimgeour. Yeah, got it now.

And now off to chapter Two!

I had a quick glance ahead and the chapters could give suggestive thought so I think they shouldnt be listedm until the thread is open....


The first chapter is...different, part of me thinks JK was making a political point, although with the attacks last week its bound to get some negative comments from Potter Haters about the attacks being "magic" and kids not seeing what its really about...

Other than that it was a fun chapter....

I'm going for Scrimgeour as in Skrimdjor... but that's more in Dutch phonetics, so I don't know if you'll understand exactly.

Yeah, the chapter does shed some light on political affairs. But it's also made clear that there are "evils" in the world that need to be taken care off, and that there's a need for decisive persons in important jobs.

I was kinda shocked to learn that Fudge is still in an advisory role :hyper: He always needed Dumbledore's advice, how can he give counsel himself?

Most of all I once again liked in this chapter Jo's way of reminding people in a very short way of what happened in the books before.
Amazing.

Yes, the way Jo recaps is amazing. She continues it throughout the whole book, but in such a fashion that it's not irritating for the fan who remembers everything already.

I got my copy today, I wanted to wait for the dutch version sonce I've read the rest in dutch but I couldn't wait any longer!
So I have to get used to the English names and everything :hee:

I really likes the first chapter, I was right back into the world of Harry Potter. I tought it might take a few chapters before I was really back into it but it's very good from the start!
