Title: theme parks
Description: what's your favorite
Tigerlily - July 4, 2005 06:09 PM (GMT)
I love theme parks and I always thought it was a summer thing, so this fits very well into the summer theme.
What's your favorite theme park?? And what's your favorite ride (also very important)
I'm still a huge fan of the Efteling. It's Dutch and it's such a brilliant place. It's also very old. Started as a fairy tale park. With just one ride something and lots of fairy tale stuff. But now it's huge.
When I was younger we visited a couple of theme parks in Germany and I remember them having those one person sled things. Where you had to sit on a tiny sled and you'd go down a metal halfpipe. Now that was absolutely brilliant. I loved that ride sooooo much.

My favorite theme park is Six Flags Magic Mountain, located in LA. It funny because when I was younger my friends preferred Disneyland, which I always thought was lame. #haha# I'm a big fan of rollercoasters, and these ones are huuuge. My favorite one is called "X," and it drops you almost vertically...headfirst. 'Tis insane!
Kim - July 4, 2005 10:44 PM (GMT)
Alton Towers in England is one of my faves, I love Oblivion (vertical-drop rollercoaster) and Nemises (woW>
And Disneyworld in Florida!
maddy - July 5, 2005 06:08 AM (GMT)
the only themparks that i have been to are the ones down on the gold coast! they are so fun and i am so excited because we are going back to them in september!!! (woW>
rollercoasters rock my sox!!
Tigerlily - July 5, 2005 09:17 AM (GMT)
that vertical drop thing sounds cool. Would give you a pretty good idea about what it felt like if you fell from the air. CRAZY!!!
i_heart_Dom - July 6, 2005 02:33 AM (GMT)
my favorite theme park would be DisneyWorld! its so magical and makes me feel happy even if its blistering hot outside. lol. i have waaaay too many favorite novelty rides but my favorite thrill ride is the Rockin Roller Coaster. its a roller coaster based on Aerosmith and theyre music is playing the whole ride. its an indoor coaster. lots of fun!

Did you go on Black Hole there? Its so amazing, its very like "hogwarts" its like a train and it pulls you so fast inside total darkness, with only stars for light. Its a awesome ride.
I dont like how big Alton towers is, you have to walk so far to get any where.
Dryton Mannor (sp) is great because everything is closer together, its not as good in some ways, but in others its perfect if you have friends who dont like too many huge rides.
earendil - July 9, 2005 01:10 PM (GMT)
My favorite park is the Efteling!
I love it there, all the fairy-tales (Rolly) Last year there was a new one, little matchstick girl.... So sad :( My favorite ride there must be the droomvlucht (dreamflight) It takes trough different worlds, one with fairy's and one with planets and there are trees and waterfalls..... Heaven on earth
The dreamflight;

The gate

I love this!
I also love Phantasialand in Germany, I was there last year and had an amazing time there! I don't remember what the ride was called but it was some sort off rollercoaster inside and the little cars themselfs turned around aswell... brilliant!
Glitter - July 13, 2005 09:09 AM (GMT)
I love theme parks! (Rolly) My dream is to go to Disney World in Florida as it looks fantastic. :nany:
I did go to Disneyland Paris last year though and they have the Aerosmith Rock n Roller Coaster there too, which was brilliant. :Bounmir: I couldn't believe how fast it was, but I loved it!
We usually go to Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures every year as we only live about an hour away in the car from them. We haven't been this year yet, although it's become a family tradition that me, my mum and dad and my son go on a Saturday in October, so we have that to look forward to. (woW> My son has no fear and is most put out that he still isn't tall enough to go on the really big rides yet, but he makes up for it by going on all the rides he is tall enough to go on as many times as he can! <lol>
I've alwyas fancied going to Alton Towers, but we haven't managed to get there yet. :(
Love the photos of Efteling Heidi, it looks wonderful there. (Rolly)

Maybe a friend of mine wants to come aswell, but that would be fun!
Maybe we could even find a nice (cheap) hotel there, because it's in Frankfurt my dad said.... Pretty far away I think.....
That would be great! Maybe some of the other dutchies would like to come aswell (Rolly)
Faolan - July 19, 2005 04:46 PM (GMT)
When I was little there were two parks I loved, but now are closed.
One was called Fantasy Land. It was for reall little kids. Mostly fairie tail
characters, and sceans with story book tails,The cow that jumped over the moon,
that kind of thing. The other was called, The Enchanted Forest. It had little rides
like going down Alice's rabbit hole, the three bears house, also a lot of story book stuff. For a little kid it was great. Now I'm a rollercoaster junkie. I love Hershy
Park in Pa. The best coaster there is The Storm Runner. You begin from a stand
still, and they blast you off from 0 to 72 miles per hour in just a few seconds.
There are barrle roles, loops, and vertical drops. It's great, but the ride it's self
does not last that long (Grrr!). Last summer I waited in line for it for an hour.
And yes it was worth it.
Tigerlily - July 19, 2005 06:27 PM (GMT)
OMG it's in Frankfurt. I heard that's like one of THE coolest places in Germany. It's totally happening. I am SO coming with ya.
That roller coaster sounds brilliant Faolan. Yeah it's a pitty how they never last that long.

Woah woah woah.... Europa Park is not in Frankfurt. It's near Freiburg which is about 300 km further south from Frankfurt
Tigerlily - July 19, 2005 08:16 PM (GMT)
DARN!!!!!!! I wanna go to Frankfurt
*stomps foot*
Owww, I'm still in for it though.
And Freiburg is not that far away. It's about 5 hours from Arnhem.

earendil - July 20, 2005 11:17 AM (GMT)
