Where has your best holiday ever taken place? Maybe it was overseas or even in your own back yard one long summer.


At the moment cant think of one for me :hee: , but had the question so just thought I’d ask and come back to it later when I have thought some more. :thinky:

I have had a few good holiday's... but I suppose the best and most exciting one was when my family, my dad's side of the family (they live in England, Holland, New Zealand and Canada) all went to New Zealand!

It was great (well, what I can remember of it) (coz I was in yr 3 :hee: ) But it was really exciting coz it was the first time me and my siblings went on a plane, and it was our first holiday AND it was over seas!!! (woW>

We have also been to Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane (theme parks..!!)

hmmm....well i have a couple.

2 years ago we went to Disney World and Universal Studios. it was sooo much fun! plus it was my first round trip on a plane.

then when i was 9 we drove to Niagra Falls. we first saw the US side, then we went to the Canada side, and thats where we stayed. the falls are BEAUTIFUL! i LOVE Canada. there were so many different people there and so much to see! we went on the Maid of the Mist and got SOAKED! but it was great. then we went to look around my dads hometown, Buffalo, NY. and we saw the house he grew up in. and on the way home from there, we went to the Mammoth Caves. it was cool.

uhh that would be to disney world last spring break! it was AWESOME!
and also when i went to seattle. i am seriously in love with seattle.

I have so many wonderfull memories on most of my hollidays..... I can't just say witch one was the best (Rolly)

But my most special one was my first trip to Ireland, I had been dreaming about going there since I was 8 years old! And when my friend was there as an au-pair I went to vissit her and that was brilliant! I got to stay with the family she was staying with and those kids were just the sweetest in the world! I didn't see that much of Ireland that time, but I do know that Dublin is one of the most brilliant cities in the world, I love that city! I felt really save there, ussualy I don't feel save in big cities, but I felt like I belonged there, that was really special! I've been going back to Newbridge every year since then (woW>
This is the first year I'm not going there, and that feels weird :(

The best ones I have are of the holidays I spent in eastern Holland when I was a kid. We never went far away, probably because going abroad was too expensive. So we spent most of our summer holidays in Elspeet. That's a place in the woods. And I just loved it. We would go cycling and swimming. Sometimes spend a whole day picking berry's in the woods. It's strange, but as a little kid I just loved to do it. And so did my brother. Going to a "zandverstuiving" a big place in the woods covered in sand. Nothing else grows there. It's like a dessert. And so we would pretend like we were in one. I remember it being extremely hot there.

Am not sure if I'm allowed to share this, but my brother and me were just kids so it's not a big deal. There was a swimming pool in the bungalow park where we stayed. One night we were the only ones left. It was a pool that had no supervision or anything, because it was so small. When getting dressed somebody (either me or my brother) came up with the brilliant idea to jump in the pool butt naked. That was so cool and exciting. Skinny dipping is so freeing. It's definitely one of the best memories I have. I mean, it's not like you get to do that every day.

And the squirrels. We were always "hunting" for squirrels.

When I was a kid we always went to Holten, you know that?
That was also brilliant! We would play in the woods whole day and there was a sheepfarm where we would play...... I remember those hollidays very well, super!

Holten sounds familiar. But I don't think I've ever been there. Byt yeah, those holiday's are brilliant.

Ireland is cool to. I went to Dublin once. (unfortunately only for a weekend) It was great.


DARN: I want to go to DisneyWorld!!!!

I went to The Bahamas when I was 13 and since then I've been desperate to go back! It's the most beautiful place I've ever been

wow...everyone's been to so many nice places. hmmm...i've been to some great places, but none that knocked my socks off. i guess the holidays i enjoyed most were the simple family camping trips. there's just something enjoyable about sleeping on the ground, watching out for bears, cooking s'mores and hot dogs, and not bathing. :hee: #haha#

My best holiday was probably the one I had two years ago..we went to Romania that year..Oh my goodness..that's the most beautiful country I've ever been to..the nature is so pure..and the people are so kind...I even swam in a salted lake (just like the dead sea) and yeah..it's as great as they say it is ^__^

Best hoilday...I think I was about 14 and we went to this simple hoilday park in Cornwall, it wasnt anything really special, but it was such a nice week of just "living" yeah hap[py times. (Rolly)

See, those are exactly the holidays I like most too. The one in which you can just BE. Now that I've grown up I don't think I will ever be able to have that feeling again. My mind is too stressed for that. Nowadays, whenever I'm on holiday, I feel like I have to get as much as I possibly can out of it. So I'm usually running from place to place. I should just do nothing more often. (like on Saturday's. That's the day I don’t HAVE to do anything.I eat when I'm hungry, sleep when I'm sleepy............ it's brilliant)

Yeah...my skin was so hot and burning that I could sleep on my back for over a week...and you can still see it (after two years)..it's a pretty good base if I want to get a tan ;)...but I'm never going to do it again..that's for sure

ouch...that sure looks painful. hopefully it was just a first degree burn, though. i've had second degree burns and those get kinda gross (well, the blisters anyway...)

My best holiday ever was in October 2003.
