Title: General Health
Description: tell the doctor what's the problem

Hestia - April 23, 2005 10:34 AM (GMT)
So, this is a place you can ask questions about general health, or just a place where you can whine about the lack of it.

At the moment, I'm a bit scared that I lost 3 kilos without really doing anything about my weight. It's probably a combination of stress and the lack of money to buy good food, and to be honest I could do with losing some weight, but all my pants are to big all of a sudden. I didn't have much of a bum before, but now it has disappeared altogether }C/{ I would have rather lost the fat on my thighs... Problem is that my pants don't really fit me anymore, except for one pair of old jeans, and that I don't have the money to buy new things. I probably have to eat those three kilos back on. :(

Some people would kill to be you! :o A dodgy diet plan “eat crap and you lose weight” very strange! <DiE< You might put more on now your stressful assignment is done, or you might lose more as you wait for your results.

I guess I’m kinda lucky that I always seem to have a set weight I’ve been around 9 and a half stone for as long as I can remember. I do feel bad for people who want to lose weight or feel that it should control their lives, although I don’t think being overweight is a good thing because firstly its so bad for your health and secondly because they get picked on and harassed about it all the time, if your at school it’s the kids and if your older you get funny looks.

It annoys me when I’m out with people and they are sad because of it, but those who don’t give a dam are great for me, we have a laugh and we are friends, weight doesn’t effect our friendship, its only the negative attitude/self pity that does that. Does that make any sense?

I wish I could lose weight like that! I envy you Jo.. but do try and feed yourself properly dear ><

Yeah, I'm very strange... And I must say that in times of a lack of money, I only buy things like bread and fruit - the neccessary items for life - and don't buy good things like meat, cookies, rich dressings for on my salads and stuff. So in fact, I do eat healthy stuff and not the things I like. But for the better part it's stress that made me lose weight, and to be honest, I'm not happy with that.
Stress killed my grandfather, and my uncle had to slow down work to prevent stress-attacks and even heart-attacks. Stress is an awful thing. I hate it, I never want it again! Problem: I don't really notice that I'm in a stressful period until it's over and people tell me that I look bad.
But I've found the cure: sunshine. I luuuuurve the springtime when it's sunny and warm. Makes you forget all bad things ><()

Oi, stress is a bitch. When you're extremely stressed it's just so hard to let go and focus on other stuff.

The only thing I can think of where you can buy cheap food is the market. And shops lik liddle and Aldi. (Rolly) (the stuff they sell there really isn't that bad)
Visit your parents more often. They'll feed ya. (SNake> My mum always does. When I go over there she makes my favorite food.

My health is good btw. After having been sick for almost two weeks I appreciate my health a lot more. It doesn't look like I lost weight because of it. But I wouldn't know, I never weigh myself. I just take a good look in the mirror and when I think: hmmmm, that's not bad, I'm happy. Which is almost every time.

I am kind of worried about my health. About 3 months ago, I suddenly lost about 45 lbs. Then I got really sick. I mean coughing, vomiting, I couldn't sleep. I've been like that for about 2 1/2 months. The vomiting has stopped, but I still cough a lot. Another thing, in Karate we've been doing some cardio kickboxing to warm up, but whenever my blood starts flowing, I start to black out. It's like that when I get up in the mornings too, or if I get in the shower without eating breakfast first. I don't know if all this is related or if they are caused by seperate things. I'm afraid that I may have some kind of horomone imbalance of something because a few months ago I was having hot flashes and I'm only 16! As for my black outs, I just hope that I'm not developing Diabetes or something!

Tigerlily - July 14, 2005 10:30 AM (GMT)
the only thing I know about diabetes is that you're extremely thirsty like ALL the time.

Have you seen a doctor yet? I suppose you have. But if not, please go see one dear. They still know more about health than all of us put together.

I haven't gone to the doctor because I can't stand having blood drawn because they always want to draw blood and the nurses are mean. They never can draw much blood so they just keep poking me with the needle. Anyway, last time I went to the doctor, it took them 3 months to figure out that I needed my tonsels taken out. I have very little faith in doctors!

Tigerlily - July 14, 2005 12:36 PM (GMT)
you're kidding. What kind of lame assed doctors are those. (am talking about the tonsels thing) That's bad.

Yeah and they're probably gonna need your blood. And poo to those nasty nurses.

I have a headache. Most of you might think: oh DUHHHHH.
But I never have a headache. NEVER. So I must be terribly worried about something. Something heavy must be on my mind. Just don't know what it is yet. I'm not worried about the money my car's gonna cost me. Just heard that I can get a cheap insurance through my work. So it's definitely not that. That leak has more or less gone away. So that can't cause it either. Maybe I need more sleep. Or maybe I need more fresh air. I don't know.

maddy - August 16, 2005 10:10 AM (GMT)
just drink lots of water and don't spend too much time in front of the computer/ and or read too much.

i know that sounds like you wont want to be here for long, but it really helps...

Hestia - August 16, 2005 06:35 PM (GMT)
Fresh air and plenty of water always help me to get rid of my headaches. I sometimes have them late at night, when I'm nearly asleep. I wake up from a half-sleep, turn around but get a headache and can't sleep on. The only thing that works then is sit up straight, turn on the lights and do something, walk around a bit. If I stay in bed it only gets worse as I keep thinking "but I need to sleep now!"

I have a gnawing pain in my tummy... like I'm getting my period. Thing is that it's not that time of the month, unless I'm completely irregular all of a sudden.
