They should not be specific to any one country unless it’s celebrated by others OR it’s a big event that you think other members from different countries might want to learn about >HO< , I.e. I’d recommend Comic relief, as it’s a great cause and I think it would be good for others to learn about what us crazy Brits get up to during March.

You post your suggestions here and if you’d be willing to help out or like to add a little, banners etc, in short your be selling your theme to others and at the end of this month a poll will be set up in events in which everyone decides what we get.

Suggestion

A summer is coming theme. Lost of talk about the summer lazy hot days and a time of the year that’s fun! If you want that vote for this idea at the end of the month (Although its only a example, its also a valid suggestion that will be in the poll.)

How about a May celebration? In the UK it used to be traditional on May 1st to dance around a maypole (and they still do at a town about 20 minutes away from where I am) and one girl in the town would get crowned May Queen, it's a time to celebrate spring, and the coming summer. It's supposed to bring luck for the rest of the year, and many people believed that it was also good luck to wash their hands and faces in the dew from the grass on the morning of May 1st. At the end of May we have the 'Whitsun' holiday. At the moment I know little about Whitsun, (except that it's close to my birthday) but I'm sure I can find out about it pretty quickly and easily

I'm still thinking about what we can do with Merri's idea.

And I had another idea while walking to my yoga class yesterday. The background is now blue. Maybe we can keep the same background but change the colours according to the season.
winter: bleu, grey
spring: lightgreen
summer: yellow
autumn: brown/red/organge

Yeah that could work, the background might have to go too (Sear) , I think it looks sort of depressing, wintery that kind thing. So you mean change the blue to yellow red etc, that could work. I'll poll it up in a day or so and see what everyone else thinks, (or anyone else can start one (bEg) ). It was hard enough deciding on this current one <lol> but if we aim for maybe 4 then we can have it "seasonal". (DanCe)

So what's the plan. Pick like four different ones for every season and have everybody pick their favourite's.

The only thing for an event I could think of and that wasn't already mentioned is the Animal rights day on October 4th.

Hmmmm, (Hmmmm) more like, 4 massive board redesigns a year. So the one we have now will come about during winter, then in a week or so we put up a new one that is themed for spring, later summer and then autumn. The change involves a new background (something placid i.e. no Dom pics ><() thats only for the hot summer months, oh boy that was bad!) then different buttons and colours to match the board. Like you suggested Spring green etc

My idea was to set up a poll to see if members want to do that or if they want to just keep what we have and make minor temporary changes at certain times of the year i.e. Halloween with a black and orange them etc



With the themed months we have months of themes (so 12 in a year), whether it be a Dom’s neck month, to summer shines or celebrations of world events like May day etc. BUT the overall look of the board doesn’t change either outside of the allotted 4 seasons or the current look.

I’m sure you got most of that already but just making sure there are no other confusions for anyone else, my bad for not explaining it well enough to start with.



The poll idea is as follows, first off my suggestion in the last post was to ask you if you want the 4 seasonal look idea, or would you prefer to keep this as they are.
Next week after some more suggestions for next MAY’s theme have been submitted we ask what everyone wants to spend the “bonus” area talking about, Whitsun, summer and so on. Then maybe shape the board slightly, maybe a banner or something <C>> . Mainly the theme will only take control of one area of the board so anyone not interested in the theme can avoid it and carry on with normal board topics. After the month has ended all topics will be moved to the DOMster and a new one will begin. Someone, maybe the person who suggested the winning theme can mod that area. <C>>

I totally get it now.

Changing the whole look of the board. Yeah, I was thinking about that when checking for cool background colours. Since that bleuish thing doesn't go that well with yellow. I think that's a great idea. But I like changes. And even more the surprise you get when something is changed. I like that.

Personally I'm all for it. But we just have to see what the rest thinks.
Christmas banners can be fun. Dommie as Santa Clause, Dom wearing a read hat. And for summer: bare chested dom. Oh my gosh I'm loving this already ><()

Aren't the seasons different all over the world?? It Autumn here in Australia... and it is Spring in Holland.... so won't it be a little confusing and such????!!!!

><() You know I was thinking about that last night while I was in bed #haha# The only place that would be effected a lot would be Down Under. Maybe not do the season idea, but perhaps some gerneral changes like maybe a new look for the Summer months etc, but not themed in anyway. I dont really mind to be honest, at times I do think the over all look of the board is wintery at the moment :unsure:

How about the theme being based on a different country each month? I can help with changing the colour schemes, and providing backgrounds. There could be threads to talk about the months country. That way there's no confusion because the seasons are different on opposite sides of the world, and we get the opportunity to learn about each others countries.

I wouldn't mind doing it. Or at least giving it a try. But I don't want to have te responsibility all by myself, so I would need somebody to help me. I also think you can come up with greater ideas when you work in couples. If there's more people who want to do it, it could be a problem... hmm.
