Board News week 8, 9th to the 16th of April



Banners: The event coordinator Mandy (e_malamutes) will be collecting the next lot of banners, when there is enough she will set up another voting thread. So get some in! LOST: The final episode spoilers are now being released }C/{ . Now this is where you had better listen up good, if I read a spoiler about lost anywhere on the board other than the lost spoiler thread your going to feel my wrath! I’m not joking around, this is one thing I wont budge on, there are people including myself who haven’t seen it or don’t want to know what happens. Please don’t be selfish and reveal what happens. You have all been warned.
Don’t forget to add LOST dates to the board calendar your board mates are counting on you. The US dates are all I can add as I can’t find a good enough site for the other countries showing it. If I spoke the language...... :(

Music The coming weeks are going to be a lot busier for me in the real world. Please if you have any music request's POST them Rather than PMing me, I don’t mine, but it takes a long time to track the song down, and get it hosted. Simply put, your get a faster response if you ask others too. (SNake>

NEW TOPICS STARTING If a topic isn’t posted in for some weeks it will "hide" in order to see it again you need to change the display setting to show all topics from "the beginning" this will reveal all. PLEASE don’t start a new topic until you have checked for this. If this occurs the new topic you started will be mergered into the older one and the older one's title will remain. Basically don’t waste your time starting a new topic when one already exists. ><()


Posting Games Scores:After you've gone into a game, if you click ARCADE to get back out your arrive at a totally secret area of the board, this is the place to post your scores. See if anyone can beat you etc.

Total posts: 722


Week one total; (i.e. last weeks) 1048 (however this was a 9 day listing) If a 7 day rule is followed the post total would have been 904 this is the total we will use in board comparisons from week to week.
This Week’s total; 722

MEAN (average number of posts per day) 103

RANGE (The highest and lowest scores listed and then taken away to give the range of posts) 152 – 49 = 103



Objective Interpretation (Facts)


The week started off very badly with April 3rd (Sunday) being the worst post count in D and F’s history with 49 posts, 6% of the weeks total posts. The best day was April 8th (Friday) with 152 posts, 21% of the weeks total posts. A difference of 103 posts which was also the weeks average number of posts per day.

As the week progressed the post count continued to increase, Today (April 9th) the posting resisted the trend and came up short with 135 posts (The day sats resets at 7 o’clock everyday thus no more posts for the next 5 hours will add to the 9th total score and will be carried over to Sunday the 10th) Making the total’s weeks posts 722.


This is only 80% of last weeks post total therefore the first week in D and F statistical reporting remains at the top spot.


Subjective Interpretation (My view only)

The week started slow many people were ill perhaps as result of the hot weekend, as people got better the post counts increased, several posters returned and started to post in high levels, obviously the more members who are joining and/or active the more other people will have to respond to and thus a higher posts count will result.

A few posters who haven’t been here in weeks also posted in smaller levels but nonetheless helped the overall count.

Today was the start of the weekend, if I were to make a prediction I would say the weekends are always going to be quieter than the week, the younger members have school internet access and then come home to the computer, the same for people who have internet access at work. On the weekends few people want to “waste” the day in front of a computer screen and can catch up with work they missed during the week, or GO to work i.e. Saturday jobs.

Thus in order for the post counts to remain high new members need to join in order to create the community feel and to maintain an active board with replyable posts.

The LOST spoilers writting in the NEWS section have been changed hope that's an OK choice now :YES: :NO: <C>>

Its great when we can share our views on other TV shows, no other show is as popular here as Lost so there isn’t room for a SPOILERS thread for TV/Movies.

Do post spoilers (and give details about it i.e what country etc) but do so in a way that lets you skip over it if a reader wants to avoid them.

Post then when you get to the spoiler write spoiler in Caps and leave a space, when you have written it highlight the text and chose small font and change to a light colour like YELLOW, just so your eyes cant see it by just browsing. (Rolly)
