Anywho, my friend Katie (who is the Billy Boyd lovingness to my Dom lovingness) gave me a copy of this tape because the main character (I think) is one of her favorite actors. She knew Dom was in it so she gave a copy to me.

Well, I could not understand what in the world was going on in the movie, all I know is that it involves a sub that's breaking down or something. I just watched it to see Dom anyways! (&*"£> Dom cries in the movie and Dom crying = me turning into a puddle of goo! (Rolly)

I love Hostile Waters, I'm trying to get it on dvd, it's basically about a Russian submarine that has a serious technical problem when it collides with a US sub, and then it's nuclear generators start to over heat. When you see Sasha (Dom) crying it's because his best friend has got trapped in the generator room, trying to shut the generator down.

The film is in English, but as Tigerlily said, Dom is part of the Russian crew, I don't actually recall Dom speaking much in it anyway, and his part is very small. I think it's a fantastic film even without Dom.

What year was it out?

Does Dom die? (bit off topic but does Dom die in that other film with John Thaw? If its a huge spolier could someone PM me please, the same for hostile waters I dont want to ruin it for anyone (bEg) )

To be honest, I was a bit disappointed with the film. I was hoping he would be in it more. They hardly ever showed him and he only said a few words. I was also not very impressed with Rutger Hauer's accent...I don't know. Maybe it's just me. I would rather watch the last half of Monsignor Renard. Or better yet...all of LotR!

"Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!"

Dom is part of the Russian crew, but of course, they all speak English (a European accent to be precise) and most of the actors on the Russian sub were European, I believe. Rutger Hauer is the captain, and as some of you may know, he's Dutch, so that makes me proud: Rutger Hauer has played in a movie with Dom! And if I remember correct, they were even together in a scene #haha#

Hostile Waters
American-English (USA/GB) thriller from 1997 by David Drury. With: Rutger Hauer, Martin Sheen, Max von Sydow and more. Halfway through the 80's. President Reagan and his Russian colleague Gorbatchov plan a meeting in Iceland in the hope of improving the relations between the countries. At that time a Russian nucleair submarine [which has Dom on it!] collides with an American submarine near the coast of Bermuda. The Russians worry about the damage and the loss of control over the atombombs on board. The Americans fear the destruction of some of the major American cities by the defective Russian bombs and consider the situation to be a menace for the meeting between the presidents. Both captains try to keep their presidents in the dark.
