After setting cinema box office records around the world, The Lord of the Rings is to take the stage as a musical.
The show, based on the fantsy classic by JRR Tolkien, is to open in March 2006 in Toronto and come to London six months later.
But the producers have promised to go back to the original tale of Middle Earth and not try to reproduce the dazzling special effects from the movie trilogy, which earned $US3 billion ($A3.81 billion) worldwide and garnered a string of Oscars. "We are ultimately dependant on 50 actors and musicians to tell the story rather than the technology," producer Kevin Wallace said as he announced details of the Europe11.5 million ($A28.04 million) musical.

i dont think were allowed to talk about that kind of thing. its that persons own personal thing and for someone who doesnt know the truth to speculate about that person isnt right. and you have your own opinions about certain celebrities, obviously, but this isnt the place to share them. sorry, but thats just my opinion and you have yours too, but if you could just keep that stuff to yourself, thatd be great.

ok, i need to find out if thats coming anywhere NEAR me. i HAVE to see that musical!!!

A musical? That would be interesting. Canada kinda scares me, but I would make sacrifices.

earendil - June 3, 2005 07:29 PM (GMT)
I read today that the musical will come to the UK in fall 2006!
I doubt it will come to Holland so I'll just have to go there! I would love to see that musical. Only I think it will be weird seeing other actors play the main characters. ^_^

whoa Heidi! I am SO coming with you! (Rolly)

earendil - June 4, 2005 01:57 PM (GMT)

maddy - June 4, 2005 03:09 PM (GMT)

earendil - June 5, 2005 12:03 PM (GMT)
Well, after the musical we'd have fly for an hour or sail for 3.5 hours to get back to Holland first :hee: But after that we could crash at your Oma's house ;)

charlie_hobbit - June 11, 2005 04:14 PM (GMT)
Oooh, that would be soo fun to see (woW> ... but I doubt I would be able to see it because we hardly ever travel, don't have much money, and not all my family are huge LotR freaks.... :o

I wanna see it! I hope it comes to America!

I have seen something on telly about the musical a couple of weeks (maybe months already) ago. Critics didn't like it, fans loved it. From what I saw of it, it had lots of visual similarities to the movies, so from that point I can see why fans loved it and critics hated it.

Anyone seen it already?

I don't even know when it's gonna premier over here in Germany.... :pups:

onlyonekingDom - April 4, 2006 04:16 AM (GMT)
hmmm...I don't know about Germany. :Huh?: I know there's supposed to be a London run and then a U.S. tour (late 2007)

meriadoc0412 - April 4, 2006 12:36 PM (GMT)
Would be a nice reason for a UK trip then... Maybe some people from here could go there together ... :thinky:
