Born in a Virginia suburb of Washington D.C. to a German opera singer and a voice teacher, she grew up on the road with her parents and younger sister. She often performed in the children's chorus of whatever production her mother was in. That singing talent later came in use for her role of an aspiring country singer in The Thing Called Love (1993). Her family moved back to the Washington D.C. area when she was a teenager. She later enrolled in E. Carolina University in North Carolina, USA where she studied acting. Shortly thereafter she moved to New York to pursue a career on the stage. This led to acting in television programs and then feature films. She gave memorable performances in Demolition Man (1993) and Wrestling Ernest Hemingway (1993) but did not achieve the stardom that seemed inevitable for her until her work in the smash hit Speed (1994). She now ranks as one of the most popular actresses in Hollywood.

I absolutely LOVE Murder by Numbers. 1) Because of Ryan Gosling 2) Because of Sandra.

She's such an amazing actress. Two Weeks Notice and Miss Congenality are great movies too.

Cant wait for Miss COngenality 2 :)

I loved practical magic.

I absoulutely <LOVE> that movie. I used to watch it all the time. I think she's a great actress, and she's so kind, donating 1 million dollars (i think it was ) for the tsunami.

If you love romantic comedies, then you have to watch Love Potion No. 9 (unless you've already seen it and decided you don't like it... )

No, I haven't seen that one yet.

* puts it on list of movies to watch*

Hmmm, maybe I'll rent it this weekend

the movie was 28 Days...I never saw it though :(

Those are great pics! I like how she can be so pretty yet be "natural" at the same time too (if you know what I mean ~Wink~ ).

She always has this girl nextdoor thing about her. And yet she's extremely beautiful. How does she do it? I'm a girl nex door. I want to look pretty like that. <Hissy< And also be hot like her.

Yeah I've seen her on the Dutch News....

I don't know many movies with Sandra in it..but she looks pretty hot..and she seemed very nice in the interview she gave yesterday..(most actors seem so fake if they give an interview with Foreign press)...

e_malamutes - March 17, 2005 02:56 AM (GMT)
I saw the commercial for Miss Congeniality 2 for the first time on TV today. It looked really cool, but I hope it's not one of those movies where the first was awesome and the second one sucks.

Sandra is like my favourite actress! I first became a fan when I seen Miss Congeniality (I think I might watch that tonight actually cos I haven't seen for ages). I've seen a few more of her movies but I should watch more. I've seen The Net and The Vanishing which are her older movies, but I really liked them! Although her part in The Vanishing is pretty short, I still loved the movie anyway, even though I think the dude in that is WAAY creepy!
